Environment and Climate Change: What will be devolved to Hampshire and the Solent?

HSCCA can use its strategic functions to coordinate environmental objectives with the regional plans and investments for which it is responsible. Where responsibility for a Local Nature Recovery Strategy or another environmental function is conferred, the Authority exercises it in accordance with that legal settlement.

Opportunity devolution presents

Regional coordination can connect environmental priorities with strategic planning, transport, economic growth, visitor activity and infrastructure, while functions retained by constituent councils and other environmental bodies remain with those authorities.
