Economic Development and Regeneration: What will be devolved to Hampshire and the Solent?

HSCCA’s strategic economic role includes:

  • preparing and publishing a Local Growth Plan;
  • maintaining a regional evidence base and assessing economic conditions;
  • coordinating long-term investment and regeneration priorities;
  • supporting visitor-economy growth where functions are conferred;
  • building partnerships for innovation, productivity, inward investment and business growth; and
  • connecting economic development with strategic transport, skills, housing and infrastructure planning.

Opportunities of devolution

Regional decision-making can align investment with shared priorities, coordinate work across local authority boundaries and create a clearer regional pipeline of strategic projects.
